Donor Embryo
Donor Embryo
Embryo donation is a procedure that enables embryos created from donor sperm and donor eggs specifically for the purpose of donation to be transferred to an infertile patient’s uterus, in order to achieve a pregnancy.
In most infertility cases, it is usually enough if either the oocyte/egg or sperm is taken from a donor for the purpose of treatment with ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) depending on the cause of Infertility.
However, a few couples may need both donor sperm and donor oocytes to create embryos and help them conceive. In such situations, the treatment option of Donor embryo adoption/transfer is recommended.
The written consent of both partners is mandatory before starting this treatment. The donor eggs and sperms are sourced from anonymous young healthy fertile donors screened for infections and genetic disorders by a registered ART bank.
